Patrick Simkins - b.1986 - is an Anglo-Irish visual artist based in Paris. As a painter, he has had solo and group exhibitions in France, Germany, and the UK. His paintings are held in private collections in Europe, the US, and Australia. As an interactive performance artist, his live drawing collaborations have been hosted in galleries, festivals, and performance venues including the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille.

Using the destructive and regenerative qualities of collage, my work reflects on the human experience. 
More specifically it dismantles the illusion of perfection, instead embracing the beauty found in imperfection, shared vulnerabilities, and the potential for growth and transformation in both personal lives and society.

The pattern of destruction and renewal is reflected in my delicate collaged drawings, the upcycling of my own paintings to create new works, and in the erased and redrawn marks made by the invited public during my interactive performances.

I am the founder of BAF BAF (Back and Forth, Britain and France), a collective that promotes ongoing collaboration between UK & France-based artists. I co-curated our first show in 2021.
