Patrick Simkins - b.1986 - is an Anglo-Irish visual artist based in Paris. As a painter, he has had solo and group exhibitions in France, Germany, and the UK. His paintings are held in public and private collections in Europe, the US, and Australia.  As an interactive performance artist, his live drawing collaborations have been hosted in galleries, festivals, and performance venues including the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille.

I'm interested in the representation of human fragility and I express it through rearranged images to create fictional scenes whereby the collage technique is used to represent our fragility.

A pattern of destruction and renewal is intrinsic to my process. It is reflected in the upcycling of my own paintings to create new works and in erasing and redrawing marks during my interactive drawing performances.

I am the founder of BAF BAF (Back and Forth, Britain and France), a collective that promotes ongoing collaboration between UK & France-based artists. I co-curated our first show in 2021.
